This version with foil cutter in handle, is not
"like the first "original" rabbit model. Doesn't operate to eject the cork like it should on the return stoke, also is much lighter construction and of less heft in the hand. Would be OK if it just worked the same, which I found it not to be doing. . . good a pulling a cork, bad at ejecting the cork. You have to remove it by hand. So yes it will remove a cork from wine bottle well, its just not as slick as the fore runner at clearing the cork from the rabbit machine. The original rabbit, without the integral foil cutter feature, which I purchased yesterday to replace this one operates as expected. The other "new'" rabbit goes to thrift so someone else can be denied the satisfaction of ejecting the cork routinely and it can advertise against the rabbit brand. Disappointed in what I had believed to be a good product heretofore. Got these to replace a 25 year old model that finally opened its last bottle in the last year."

Poor quality on recent purchase
"I am having a great deal of difficulty using the new Rabbit to open bottles of wine it is taking too much effort, in my opinion, lifting the level to extract the cork. I had a Screwpull that worked for many years and was effortless, and am very disappointed with the Rabbit which had a good reputation. I no longer have the packaging ( I had assumed that it would work properly and disposed of it), and will have to purchase a replacement, probably another brand since this works poorly. My wife would be unable to use it. Your quality control needs to improve . Joel Confino"

Terrible mistake
"I bought the rabbit corkscrew because it claimed to be very easy to use. I definitely want that. But on the few occasions where I have attempted to use it. It’s been a disaster. It takes Herculean strength to get the screw into the cork, as well as extracting the cork, but that has always failed, because the corkscrew comes out without the cork."

It works
"I've used it twice. (Admittedly due to budgetary concerns I only drink Bottled Wine on weekends) It seems a little stiff, maybe a shot of WD 40 will help"
