I place the corkscrew on the cork in a wine bottle on which the foil covering has been removed and it goes in part ways and stops with no avail. I tried a number of diffent bottles of wine with the same result. Now I cannot get the "down" control to work at all. I have checked the batteries and they are fine. The "down" control does notwork at all now."

Not working like a Houdini
"I received this Houdini Model No. H1-04104T as a Christmas present, brand new. It came with batteries. I installed the batteries and it could not pull the wine cork out. I replaced the batteries with fresh, brand new batteries and the same problem occurred. I tried to open different wine bottles and none of the corks were removed. It went all the way in but it could not remove the wine cork. I think I may get a defective product."
